The Madhya Pradesh High Court granted anticipatory bail to a man accused of sending threatening and perverted messages to a woman, expressing concern that such conduct is punishable only under bailable offences due to legislative gaps.
The accused allegedly harassed the woman, threatened to ruin her marriage, and caused her to cancel her engagement and stop attending college.
Observing that the trial court overlooked the bailable nature of the offences, the High Court directed the applicant’s release if arrested, with a restraint on contacting the complainant.
