MPL Parent Company Serves ₹50 Crore Defamation Notice to ASCI Over White Paper On Opinion Trading

Galactus Funware Technology, parent of Mobile Premier League (MPL), has sent a legal notice to the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), demanding ₹50 crore in damages for alleged defamation. 

The notice demands the immediate withdrawal of ASCI’s whitepaper on opinion trading, which MPL claims is “biased and unsubstantiated.” MPL alleges that ASCI used “tampered” screenshots of its ads, removed disclaimers, and misrepresented content to portray financial risk and non-compliance.

ASCI has denied the allegations, stating there was “absolutely no question of tampering.
