Mumbai Court Grants Interim Relief to Salman Khan in Defamation Suit Against Abhinav Kashyap

The City Civil Court at Mumbai passed an interim order restraining filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap and YouTube channel hosts from making or circulating defamatory content against actor Salman Khan and his family.

The case arose from a defamation suit filed by Khan over interviews and podcasts in which Kashyap allegedly made derogatory remarks about him and his family.

The Court held that the statements were defamatory, abusive, and harmful to Khan’s reputation, and rejected the defence of free speech.

The Court directed the defendants to refrain from uploading or sharing any defamatory material relating to Khan or his family.
