Mumbai NDPS Court Orders De-Freezing of Rhea Chakraborty’s Bank Accounts
A special NDPS court in Mumbai recently ordered the de-freezing of bank accounts belonging to actor Rhea Chakraborty and her family in connection with the drugs case linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
The Court held that the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) failed to comply with the mandatory requirements under Section 68F of the NDPS Act, which requires confirmation of a freezing order by the competent authority within 30 days.
Observing that no such confirmation was obtained, the Court allowed the applicants to operate their accounts in accordance with RBI regulations.
