Murder-Accused Arrested for Throwing Slipper at Judge

Kiran Santosh Bharam, a 22-year-old murder accused, threw a slipper at Judge RG Waghmare during a hearing in Thane court.

Upset over his lawyer's absence, Bharam requested a case transfer, which the judge advised him to pursue through his lawyer. When the lawyer didn’t appear, Bharam threw the slipper, which struck a wooden frame near the judge's dais.

Bharam has been charged under Sections 132 (assaulting a public servant) and 125 (endangering public safety) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. His action disrupted court proceedings and obstructed justice.

An FIR has been filed against Bharam, and the investigation is underway.
