The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has heard an insolvency plea against B9 Beverages (Bira) filed by Devyani International over alleged unpaid dues of ₹1.09 crore.
The dispute stems from agreements signed between Bira and Devyani for brand alliance and product supply at multiple locations, including airports.
Devyani alleged that Bira defaulted on payments from the first quarter of FY 2023-24 despite multiple reminders.
After sending a notice under Section 9 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), Devyani claimed Bira’s response was frivolous, leading to the insolvency plea.
The tribunal has listed the matter for compliance on March 7.
