NHRC Slams MP Police Over Missing Girl Case, Seeks Report in 2 Weeks

The NHRC has taken suo motu cognisance of police inaction in the case of a 6-year-old girl missing for 18 days from Bhopal’s Koh-e-Fiza area.

Despite the homeless mother suspecting a relative’s involvement, no arrests have been made. Citing media reports and data revealing over 3,400 women and girls missing in Madhya Pradesh over three years, the NHRC noted serious human rights concerns.

'Operation Muskan,' aimed at rescuing missing children, has shown no results. Notices have been issued to the MP Chief Secretary and DGP, seeking a detailed report within two weeks.
