NLSIU Alumnus Niranjan Venkatesan Appointed King’s Counsel in the UK

Niranjan Venkatesan, an alumnus of NLSIU and a barrister at One Essex Court, has been appointed King’s Counsel (KC) in the United Kingdom.

He received the prestigious KC title in a special ceremony in March 2025, honoring his exceptional advocacy skills. Specializing in commercial litigation and arbitration, Venkatesan has argued cases before the UK Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.

The KC title is highly competitive, awarded after a rigorous selection process assessing legal expertise and advocacy.

At the same event, Senior Advocate Nakul Dewan was also appointed KC, joining distinguished Indian-origin KCs like Harish Salve.
