Himachal Pradesh HC Denies Enrolment to Law Graduate Who Hadn’t Finished Bachelor’s Degree Before Admission

The Himachal Pradesh High Court has denied enrolment to a man who joined a 3-year LL.B course before finishing his graduation.

The Division Bench ruled that Inderpal Singh’s admission was illegal since he hadn’t completed his bachelor’s degree at the time, violating the Advocates Act and 2008 Legal Education Rules.

Singh had failed a final-year paper in 2014 but took admission to law school before clearing it.

The Court said allowing such ineligible admissions would be a serious illegality and rejected his plea to enrol as an advocate, firmly backing the Bar Council’s stance.
