Odisha Govt Adds Transgender Category in Exam Application Forms

The Odisha government has directed all state recruitment and examination forms to include a transgender category alongside male and female options.

This move aligns with the Odisha State Transgender Persons Policy, 2021, which promotes inclusion, non-discrimination, and equal opportunities for transgender individuals.

The policy also mandates anti-discrimination measures in education, access to government employment, and legal protections, ensuring transgender persons can exercise their rights fully.

Officials emphasised that the change aims to make recruitment and admission processes more inclusive while safeguarding privacy and dignity.
