Odisha Government Drafts Bill to Regulate Private Coaching Centres & Hostels

The Odisha government has introduced the Odisha Coaching Centres and Private Hostels (Regulation and Control) Bill, 2025 to regulate private coaching centres and hostels, making registration mandatory and banning false rank guarantees.

The bill mandates websites for all centres, displaying faculty qualifications, fee policies, and student success rates.

Government and aided college teachers cannot be hired. Minimum space, fire safety measures, and CCTV installation are required.

Violations will result in fines of ₹25,000 (first offence), ₹1 lakh (second offense), and cancellation of registration upon the third offence.

The public can submit suggestions until February 15.
