The Madhya Pradesh High Court dismissed a writ petition seeking age relaxation for applying to the post of Assistant Professor, holding that delay in an earlier recruitment process does not create a vested right to claim eligibility under a subsequent advertisement.
The Court said eligibility conditions in each recruitment must be strictly followed and courts cannot permit candidates who fail to meet the prescribed criteria on the cut-off date.
It further held that doctrines such as legitimate expectation or actus curiae neminem gravabit cannot override clear policy decisions on age limits.
