The Delhi High Court permitted students expelled from Delhi Public School, Dwarka, over non-payment of increased fees to resume classes, provided their parents pay 50% of the hiked amount.
Justice Vikas Mahajan clarified that the base fee must be paid in full, and the 50% rebate applies only to the increased portion. This interim relief remains effective until the Department of Education (DoE) decides on the fee hike.
The court also noted allegations that the school employed bouncers to prevent students from entering and failed to refund unapproved excess fees, contravening DoE directives.
The matter will be heard next on August 28.
