Bombay High Court Takes Up Shilpa Shetty’s Plea Against Unauthorised Use of Her Identity

Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty has moved the Bombay High Court seeking protection of her personality and publicity rights against known and unknown platforms.

She alleges that these platforms are commercially exploiting AI-generated versions of her voice, deepfake images, and morphed clips without consent.

Her petition states the clips from her films are being converted into GIFs, videos and merchandise that mock or dilute her persona, and that such unauthorised use causes reputational harm and unlawful commercial gain.
