
The PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking to register an FIR against Justice Varma over a cash incident and challenging the three-member committee formed by the Chief Justice of India.
Adv. Nedumpara challenged the K. Veeraswami v. Union of India judgment where it was held that a criminal case under Section 154 CrPC against a sitting judge can be filed after consulting the CJI.
Furthermore, the PIL argues that the police must investigate and register an FIR without interference from any person or authority as stated in the Veeraswami case.
Also, the Delhi High Court has withdrawn judicial work from Justice Varma.
