The Delhi High Court has stayed the recruitment of lawyers by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which was based on Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) Post Graduate (PG) scores.
The petition argues that the CLAT-PG exam is designed for LLM admissions, not for public employment, and bears no rational link to assessing suitability for NHAI posts.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela has reserved its final verdict on the matter.
The court ordered that no further action on the recruitment notification should proceed until a judgment is delivered.
