Delhi High Court Issues Notice on RTI Plea Over Complaint Details Against Ex-Madras HC Judge T Raja

Journalist Saurav Das has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court challenging the Supreme Court’s refusal to disclose whether any complaints were filed against former Madras High Court judge Justice T Raja.

His RTI request asked whether such complaints existed and how they were handled. The Supreme Court's Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) denied the request, citing improper format and personal information exemption.

The Central Information Commission partially upheld the denial. Das argues that a simple 'yes' or 'no' doesn’t require a specific format and demands judicial transparency.

The Delhi High Court has issued notice to the CPIO; the next hearing is on September 8, 2025.
