A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s refusal to allow a NEET re-test for students affected by power outages during the exam in Indore and Ujjain.
The petitioners cited 1–2 hour-long blackouts during thunderstorms, forcing students to write the paper in near darkness without additional time. They presented video evidence, media reports, and statements from local authorities.
Although a single judge had ordered a re-test citing Article 14, the High Court's Division Bench overturned that order.
The Supreme Court has agreed to list the matter for hearing next week.
