Police Deny "VIP Treatment" to Actor Dileep at Sabarimala

Malayalam Actor Dileep’s visit to Sabarimala on December 5 led to allegations of VIP treatment, causing inconvenience to other devotees during the Harivarasanam recital.

The issue was, whether the alleged VIP treatment disrupted worship for devotees, including vulnerable groups, and resulted from lapses by police and Devaswom officials in following standard darshan protocols.

The police denied prior knowledge of Dileep’s visit and special privileges, citing CCTV evidence, while the Devaswom Board acknowledged its guards' involvement and submitted an inquiry report.

The Kerala High Court is reviewing CCTV footage and reports while directing stricter enforcement of darshan rules to prevent recurrence.
