Prajwal Revanna Challenges Rape Conviction as Media-Driven: Karnataka High Court

The Karnataka High Court heard Prajwal Revanna’s appeal challenging his rape conviction, where he argued that the trial court’s findings lacked incriminating material and were influenced by a media-driven prosecution.

He contended that the prosecution's case suffered from material inconsistencies in witness testimony, defects in the chain of custody of electronic evidence, and an unexplained delay in filing the complaint.

He further asserted that the trial court convicted and sentenced him on successive days, thereby denying him a meaningful opportunity to be heard on sentencing. The High Court issued notice and listed the appeal for continued hearing.
