Former MP Prajwal Revanna Appeals Life Sentence for Rape Before Karnataka High Court

Former MP and JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna has approached the Karnataka High Court challenging his conviction and life sentence for repeatedly raping his domestic help and recording the acts.

He was sentenced on August 2 by a Bengaluru sessions court for offences at his farmhouse in Holenarasipur and a residence in Banashankari, Bengaluru, allegedly committed between January 2021 and January 2022.

In his plea, Revanna alleged contradictions between the victim’s complaint and testimony, and claimed police coerced her into filing the case.

He also questioned evidence, including stains found years later. The appeal, filed through advocate Basavaraj Sappannavar, awaits hearing.
