Punjab & Haryana High Court Grants Bail to Accused in OP Jindal Students' Death Case

  • Case Name: Manan Aggarwal v. State of Haryana

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted bail to 20-year-old Manan Aggarwal, accused of causing the deaths of two OP Jindal Global Law School students in a 2024 road accident.

In November 2024, the trial court charged him under Sections 114 and 304 of the IPC.

The Court noted that he had been in custody for 11 months and that 16 of the 18 prosecution witnesses had been examined. There was no medical evidence of intoxication, a fact that the IO has admitted in cross-examination.

The Court found no compelling reason for his continued detention when the facts of the current FIR warranted release.
