The Delhi High Court received a civil action filed by entrepreneur and podcaster Raj Shamani seeking protection of his personality and publicity rights.
He alleged that several online platforms commercially exploited his name, image, voice, and other identifiers through AI-generated content without authorisation.
The plaintiff stated that such use amounted to misappropriation of persona, infringement of registered trademarks and copyrighted works, and passing off for commercial gain, and sought mandatory directions for the immediate removal of the disputed content and prohibitory injunctions restraining further misuse.
The Court listed the matter before Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora for further consideration.
