The Rajasthan High Court directed immediate state action to curb rising cyber-fraud, ordering the establishment of a Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Centre (R4C) coordinated with the national nodal agency, a toll-free automated FIR registration system, and accredited digital forensic labs. The Court also mandated exclusive cyber inspectors and specialised public prosecutors.
It further instructed AI-based mule/account monitoring, re-KYC of suspicious or inactive accounts, and physical verification for high-risk transactions involving vulnerable persons. Restrictions on SIM cards, registration of call-centres/BPOs, and tighter controls on the sale and transfer of devices were also directed.
The Court emphasised that these measures are illustrative and that the State must adopt additional steps as required.
