Rajasthan High Court Orders Mandatory Registration of Ola, Uber, Swiggy, Zomato Gig Workers

The Rajasthan High Court directed all app-based transport and delivery platform workers, including Ola, Uber, Swiggy, and Zomato, to register with the State Transport Department and the Director General, Cyber.

The Court also mandated ID cards, uniforms with QR codes, and commercial number plates for vehicles. To enhance women’s safety, companies were instructed to ensure at least 15% female drivers within six months, increasing to 25% over 2–3 years.

These directions were issued while rejecting a bail plea in a cybercrime case, highlighting the need for regulatory oversight of gig-economy platforms.
