Rajasthan High Court Issues a Notice on Plea for Official WhatsApp Channel to Share Court Updates

The Rajasthan High Court has issued notice in a PIL seeking to create an official WhatsApp channel for the High Court to provide consolidated updates like cause lists, e-filing status, orders, and judgments.

A division bench of Justices Pushpendra Singh Bhati and Bipin Gupta will hear the petition by a practising advocate.

The petitioner notes that cause lists are already uploaded via Telegram and updates are sent through the e-Courts website and SMS, but multiple platforms are causing “avoidable friction.” 

The plea also seeks rules that allow advocates digital access to files pending in court, provision of e-true certified copies of orders uploaded online, and advance service of documents when state departments are respondents.
