Rajasthan High Court Denies Reserved Category Benefits to Non-Domicile NEET PG Candidates

The Rajasthan High Court held that candidates belonging to reserved categories in one State cannot claim reservation benefits in another State for NEET PG admissions.

The Court upheld the counselling board’s decision to treat non-domicile candidates as general category applicants. It explained that reservation policies are state-specific and based on local socio-economic conditions, and extending them across states would violate the constitutional framework.

The Court also clarified that such candidates can still participate in counselling but without reserved category advantages like lower qualifying percentiles.

Finding no illegality in the policy, the Court dismissed the plea.
