Rajasthan High Court Orders Removal of Royal Titles From Case Filed by Jaipur Royal Family

The Rajasthan High Court directed the legal heirs of the Jaipur Royal Family to remove royal titles like “Maharaj” and “Princess” from their writ petitions challenging municipal property tax assessments.

Filed in 2001 in the names of Maharaja Prithviraj and Maharaja Jagat Singh, the petitions alleged wrongful tax computation by municipal authorities.

Justice Mahendar Kumar Goyal granted one week to amend the case titles, warning that non-compliance would lead to dismissal.

After the amendment, the petitions are scheduled for a hearing on October 13.
