The Rajasthan High Court issued a criminal contempt notice to a man caught recording court proceedings on his mobile phone without authorization.
Justice Anoop Kumar Dhand observed that such acts interfere with the administration of justice and lower the dignity of the judiciary.
The individual, identified as a petitioner’s driver, reportedly attempted to delete the footage when confronted. The Court highlighted that the Rajasthan High Court Rules for Video Conferencing expressly prohibit unauthorized recording.
Consequently, the Court directed the Registrar to lodge a formal report, ordered the immediate seizure of the device, and issued show-cause notices to both the driver and the petitioner.
