Rajasthan HC Protects Kota Meat Shops from Closure Amid License Dispute

The Rajasthan High Court directed state authorities to decide the license renewal applications of Kota meat shop owners within four weeks.

Justice Anoop Kumar Dhand ordered that no coercive action, including shop closure or seizure, be taken against the petitioners for four weeks while their pleas are considered.

The Court clarified that authorities must decide the applications strictly as per law and made no direction on the outcome.

Shop owners argued their licenses had expired and renewal pleas were pending, but municipal authorities moved to close their shops without hearing them.
