Punjab & Haryana HC Orders Temporary Closure of Amritsar, Ajnala Courts Till May 14

The Punjab & Haryana High Court has ordered the temporary closure of the District Court at Amritsar and the Sub-Division Court in Ajnala for public entry from May 9 to May 14, 2025.

The step aims to restrict footfall and reduce on-site presence. The courts will function in a limited capacity during this period. Important applications for bail and stay can be filed and hearing will be conducted through video-conferencing mode. 

Only 50% of the court staff are required to attend duty on a rotational basis, while full staff attendance has been exempted. Judges and other personnel will also be present in minimal numbers to ensure restricted operations.
