Rohini Court Grants Permanent Injunction Against Counterfeit Ghadi Products, Awards Damages

The Rohini Court, Delhi, permanently restrained a counterfeiter from infringing Ghadi's trademark, packaging, and tagline “Pahle Istemal Karen Fir Viswash Karen.”

The defendant had continued using a deceptively similar mark and tagline despite an earlier settlement.

The Court, citing trademark and copyright violations, found no real defence prospect and issued a summary judgment under Order 13-A CPC.

A Local Commissioner seized counterfeit goods worth ₹10 lakh.

The Court awarded ₹5 lakh in damages and ₹1.5 lakh in costs to Ghadi, reinforcing brand identity protection and consumer trust in well-known trademarks.
