The Supreme Court looked at the issue of Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) admissions that were canceled because some students did not follow a 2016 rule requiring mandatory counseling for admissions.
The students argued that their education should not be wasted, especially since there is a shortage of super-speciality dentists in the country. The Court noted that other students in Madhya Pradesh with similar issues were allowed to keep their degrees.
The SC allowed the students to keep their admissions and ordered that their MDS degrees be given to them quickly. The Court also said that this is a one-time decision and will not apply to future cases.
