Supreme Court Allows UPSC Aspirants with Disabilities to Change Scribe Details Till May 18

The Supreme Court has allowed candidates with disabilities appearing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 to update their scribe details in the registration form until May 18, 2025, 4:00 PM. The Exam is scheduled on May 25.

The petition, filed by Mission Accessibility, highlighted challenges faced by candidates in securing long-term commitment from scribes, as details were required months in advance.

UPSC has received 27 such requests and must respond within three working days, while also addressing the issue of providing screen reader software (JAWS), for which it has sought more time to file a detailed affidavit.

The case is scheduled for its next crucial hearing on May 16.
