The Supreme Court quashed the bail granted by the Allahabad High Court to 13 individuals accused in a child trafficking case, criticizing the High Court's leniency and the Uttar Pradesh government's failure to challenge the bail orders.
The Court ordered the immediate remand of the accused, framing of charges, and completion of trial proceedings within six months on a day-to-day basis.
The court also directed the appointment of three special public prosecutors, provision of police protection to victims and their families, and ensured admission and educational support for trafficked children under the Right to Education Act.
Additionally, the Court emphasized post-trial compensation to victims under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
