Supreme Court Denies Anticipatory Bail in ₹65 Lakh ‘Dunki’ Scam Case

The Supreme Court denied anticipatory bail to a man accused of being part of a “dunki” network that allegedly defrauded a complainant of ₹65 lakh, promising illegal immigration to the U.S

Charges include cheating, criminal conspiracy, and human trafficking under the IPC. 

The Court said serious allegations and the accused’s prior criminal history, and that no exceptional grounds justified pre-arrest relief at this stage. 

The court emphasized that the investigation is still in early stages, and granting bail could hamper the process. (Om Parkash v State of Haryana)
