Supreme Court Directs All High Courts to Submit Reports on Timelines for Delivering Judgments

The Supreme Court has directed all High Courts to file detailed reports outlining their timelines for pronouncing judgments after hearings are concluded.

The bench observed that these details should eventually be made public to ensure transparency and accountability in the judicial system. It noted that a uniform and transparent mechanism would help assess judicial efficiency and reduce uncertainty for litigants.

The Court reiterated that judgments should be uploaded promptly, with reasons following operative orders within days. The matter will be heard again after four weeks.
