SC Eases Bail Terms for Manish Sisodia in Delhi’s Excise Policy Case

  • Case Name: Manish Sisodia vs Directorate of Enforcement
  • Judge(s): Justice B.R. Gavai and K.V. Viswanathan

The SC allowed AAP leader Manish Sisodia to relax the bail condition requiring him to report to the IO twice weekly in the corruption and money laundering cases related to the Delhi Excise policy.

The court ruled that indefinite custody would violate his Fundamental Right to Liberty under Article 21 of the Constitution

Sisodia argued that the trial court had taken cognizance of the alleged offences under the PMLA without prior sanction from the ED, which he claimed was a procedural flaw.

The matter will be heard again on December 20, 2024.
