Supreme Court Grants Bail to Road Accident Accused as Father Pledges ₹1 Crore Compensation

The Supreme Court granted interim bail to Jay Chandrahas Gharat, accused of causing a fatal road accident that killed a couple and injured their daughter.

His father pledged ₹1 crore to support the orphaned children. The Court directed him to immediately deposit ₹50 lakh and pay the remaining in installments.

He also committed to providing ₹25,000 per month for their education and living expenses. Police and the District Legal Services Authority will monitor the children’s well-being.

The Court clarified that the compensation will be granted to the children regardless of the case outcome.
