SC Reserves Verdict on Free Sanitary Pad Policy for Schoolgirls

The Supreme Court reserved its judgment on December 10 on a plea seeking the implementation of a nationwide Menstrual Hygiene Policy for adolescent girls in government and government-aided schools (Classes 6-12).

The SC directed the Union Government to create a uniform national policy in consultation with States and UTs, with partial funding under the National Health Mission. 

The policy aims to ensure free sanitary pads, awareness activities, and proper disposal systems in schools.
