Supreme Court to Hear PIL Seeking Enforcement of Rights for Neurodivergent Persons

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking enforcement of fundamental rights for neurodivergent persons, including those with autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.

The plea demands inclusive policies in education, employment, and healthcare, alongside legal recognition of neurodiversity.

The petition states that these laws were enacted to safeguard the rights and dignity of persons with mental illness, autism, and other disabilities, but have not been effectively enforced.

It highlights systemic discrimination and inadequate support systems, urging the court to direct central and state governments to implement existing laws like the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
