The Supreme Court adjourned the suo motu case on Lokpal’s decision to hear a complaint against a High Court judge to April 15.
The case concerns whether the Lokpal has jurisdiction to hear complaints against sitting High Court judges.
Previously, the Supreme Court had stayed the Lokpal’s decision to hear a complaint against a High Court judge. The upcoming hearing will focus solely on the question of jurisdiction, not the merits of the complaint.
During the proceedings, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta argued that High Court judges are outside Lokpal's jurisdiction.
The bench appeared to concur, appointing Senior Advocate Ranjit Kumar as amicus curiae.
