The Supreme Court transferred 26 writ petitions challenging the Competition Commission of India’s (CCI) investigation into Amazon and Flipkart-associated sellers to the Karnataka High Court.
The CCI initiated the probe in January 2020 under Section 26(1) of the Competition Act, 2002, based on allegations of anti-competitive practices and preferential treatment of select sellers.
The Court emphasized uniformity and timely resolution, directing all future related petitions to the Karnataka High Court single-judge bench, where similar matters are already under consideration.
This move consolidates proceedings to prevent delays, ensuring adherence to procedural efficiency in competition law adjudication.
