The Supreme Court upheld the life sentence of a man convicted of repeatedly raping his 10-year-old daughter, rejecting his claim of false implication due to domestic strain.
Calling the defence “completely hollow,” the Court stressed no child would fabricate such grave allegations to escape household discipline.
Citing strong testimony, medical evidence, and the unrebutted POCSO presumption, the Court condemned the crime as an “institutional betrayal.”
The court ordered ₹10.5 lakh compensation to the survivor, invoking Article 142 to reaffirm dignity and justice. The bench warned against judicial leniency in cases that shatter the sanctity of family.
