SCBA President Urges Relocation of National Judicial Museum to Enhance Lawyers’ Facilities

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Vikas Singh has submitted a formal request to the CJI urging the relocation of the National Judicial Museum and Archive from the high-security Judges’ Library to the Additional Building within the Supreme Court complex.

SCBA President Vikas Singh proposed that the vacated space be used to create soundproof chambers and workspaces for lawyers.

He also raised concerns about the Additional Building being classified as a high-security zone, which restricts access for lawyers and clients.

The SCBA highlighted that several lawyer facilities in the Additional Building remain underutilised and suggested that relocating the museum during the court’s summer vacation would improve accessibility, transparency, and space usage for legal professionals.
