SEBI Accuses Ketan Parekh of Front Running in Rs. 65 Cr Trading Scheme

On January 2, 2025, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) alleged that former stockbroker Ketan Parekh and 21 associates illegally earned ₹65.7 cr through a front-running scheme using non-public information from an unnamed overseas client between 2021 and 2023.

The interim order bans Parekh and two others from trading in securities and seeks recovery of the illicit gains.

SEBI claims the group employed complex trading strategies based on insider knowledge. Parekh, previously banned for market manipulation in 2003, has 21 days to respond to the charges. The investigation highlights continued vigilance against market misconduct.
