Sheena Bora Case: Supreme Court Rejects Indrani Mukerjea’s Plea To Travel Abroad

  • Case Name: Indrani Mukerjea v. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)

The Supreme Court dismissed the plea of Indrani Mukerjea, challenging a Bombay High Court ruling that denied her permission to travel abroad where the special court allowed Mukerjea’s plea to visit Spain and the United Kingdom.

However, the CBI opposed the plea in the high court, stating the matter's sensitivity, with 96 witnesses having been examined and 92 witnesses remaining.

The Supreme Court directed the trial court to conclude the proceedings within a year.

Mukerjea argued, that the trial was vacant for the last four months and may take a long time to conclude thereafter, Mukerjea moved to the apex court, challenging the high court order.
