Shiv Sena Dispute: Supreme Court Warns UBT Faction Over Media Remarks on Delays

The Supreme Court issued a stern warning to the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) faction regarding public statements accusing the judiciary of delaying a decision on the Shiv Sena split.

A Bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi criticized the party’s contradictory behavior of seeking specific hearing dates in court while simultaneously targeting the bench in the media.

The CJI emphasized that the Court operates under severe caseload pressures and expects complete cooperation from all litigants rather than public posturing.

The matters, which challenge the official recognition and non-disqualification of the Eknath Shinde faction, have been scheduled for July.
