The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act UAPA Tribunal upheld the Union government’s July 2024 decision to impose a five-year ban on Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) under Section 4 of the UAPA.
Justice Neena Bansal Krishna cited SFJ’s ties to Khalistani terror groups, collaboration with Pakistan's ISI, and threats to Indian leaders, including the PM.
The tribunal highlighted SFJ’s role in recruiting youth, financing terrorism, and targeting national infrastructure. It also noted the use of cyber platforms for separatist propaganda. Evidence included testimonies, videos, and admissions by SFJ leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
