Higher Traffic Fines & Jail Time for Violators Starting March 1, 2025 - New Traffic Rules

Starting March 1, 2025, the government has increased fines for breaking traffic rules to improve road safety and prevent careless driving.

Due to the rising number of accidents, the government has increased traffic fines again since 2019. The new penalties include much higher fines, along with jail time or community service for repeat offenders.

These new rules are meant to make drivers follow traffic laws more strictly and reduce rule-breaking on Indian roads.
